We will begin UNIT 4 – Testing Limits, our second nonfiction unit.  This unit includes Informational Texts. Understanding Types of Informational Texts, Types of Visual Media, and the Purpose of Nonfiction is important. This week:

Monday: Final Copy of Research Writing Essay (ISF) DUE ; Read – The Five “Wanderers” of the Ancient Skies by Dennis Brindell Fradin

Tuesday: Read-Earth From Space (NASA Satellite Pics), then, An Ancient Computer Surprises Scientists by John Noble Wilford, and lastly, Hearing Under Seige by Bob Ludlow.

Wednesday: Read – Developing Your Chops by Fran Lanz & Muddy Waters by Julius Lester;  In class working time – Power Point for ISF

Thursday: Read-How to Surf & Sea Worry by Maxine Hong Kingston

Friday: Read – Gorillas in the Mist by Diane Fossey & Woman in the Mists by Farley Mowat;  In class working time – Power Point for ISF
