Welcome to the new school year (2015-2016)

As Salamu Alaykum
I’m so excited for this new school year. I will be teaching 4th & 5th grade Islamic Studies and Level 1 Quraanic Arabic for middle school. Can’t wait to meet all the students and inshAllah it will be a fruitful year for everyone!

As Salamu Alaykum School Parents,
Alhamdulilah we were all blessed to be part of a new school year at Al-Iman and we are all looking forward to a productive and exciting year!
Let me first take a chance to introduce myself. My name is Rana Issa, I am originally from Palestine. This is my second year teaching at Al-Iman school and Alhamdulilah I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this school’s team! I will be teaching 4th & 5th Grade Islamic Studies as well as Level 1 Quraanic Arabic for middle school inshAllah. I’m looking forward to invest the best of my Islamic knowledge and education to help your child develop a stronger relationship with our religion.
The Prophet (may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) said, “I have left amongst you two things. You will not go astray so long as you hold fast to them. These are the Book of Allah, and the Sunnah of His Messenger.” (Malik)
I will do my best this year to help our students learn the Islamic concepts and teachings and help them implement this knowledge so it can serve as a shield in their daily life. Islam is not only rules and principles, it is a lifestyle.
However, I can’t do this alone: I believe that by all of us working together; parents and teachers, we can make this a very successful year. I consider it of prime importance that you be an active part of your child’s education. It is a great privilege and responsibility to be your child’s teacher this year, and I look forward to meeting each of you inshAllah. You are invited to phone me or visit the school during my planning hours any time that you have a question concerning your child’s progress.

(2014 -2015) Reflection
Peace be upon you,
Now that we have reached the end of the year I would like to share with you all a brief summary of how the year went by. Alhamdulilah I feel very happy and privileged to have taught your students and I’ll let you know that I’ve learned from them as much as they learned from me. The highlights of my school year was the Muslim Heritage project, we completed is successfully and used our new “document readers” for the project. It was a pleasure seeing how much creativity the upper elementary had and quickly they managed to integrate technology in their ideas. Another important accomplishment was the ISF (Integrated Subject Fair) which takes a huge chunk from our curriculum. MashAllah the students chose unique topics and learned so much on how Islam is related to every aspect of our life.
I can go on and on mentioning how proud I am from so many students who improved not only in Quran, but also who grasped the concept of how Islam is not just a subject but a lifestyle; that by itself was an important goal for me this year.
I want to thank everyone (staff, parents, students) for all the hard work and support. InshAllah if Allah willed we will see you all again next year, until then استودعكم الله الذي لاتضيع ودائعه :)

—-> Kindly check out the summer resources I have posted on this website. It would be wonderful to know that your child maintained what he/she has learned throughout the year and it will be an easier transition for us and for him/her next year inshAllah <-----

Expectations for next year (2015 – 2016)

Be prepared: Go briefly over summer resources to maintain what was learned the previous year and have all supply list material present.

Follow rules: Students must abide by classroom and school rules. Any infractions will have consequences. It is advised to go over the Student handbook before starting the school year

Maintain Islamic character: Following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is without doubt a must for every Muslim/Muslimah. I expect the students to be the best Muslims they can at school and wherever the go.

Have a blessed summer!
