I believe that every child has the right to an good education. As a teacher at an Islamic School, I believe it is important that Islamic values be incorporated into the history I am teaching. My goal is to not only teach the curriculum completely, so student’s are academically competitive when they graduate, but teach them a side of history few actually learn. While incorporating Islamic teaching and values into instruction, students will be learning a history that is not only inclusive but rich.
It is important to me that each student learns in the way that best suits them. I frequently change the way material is taught to engage all types of learning styles. Not only do I help them understand the mandated curriculum but I engage them in discussion that sharpens their skills as independent thinkers, problem solvers and global citizens.
Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all. — Aristotle
