For anyone who might be wondering Spring Break is only 3 weeks away!
Report card went home today. Overall, I’m very happy with the students and their performance for this quarter. I know quarter four will be the toughest with spring fever just around the corner. As always, if you would like to discuss your student’s grade, performance or just want to chat please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I hope everyone is enjoying their three-day weekend thanks to the teacher work-day this Monday the 13th. Friday was the end of the third quarter (I know, whoa) and report cards will be going home this Friday the 17th. Overall, I am impressed with everyone’s counted growth and can’t believe we’re about to enter the last quarter—time flies.
I am currently in the process of planning the middle school’s Washington D.C. trip and will have more information on what we’ll be doing soon.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or just want to chat you know where to find me.
Thank you to everyone who came out for the fundraising dinner Saturday evening.
Both this week and next week students have a number of test, projects and quizzes due as we inch closer to the close of the third quarter (I can’t believe it!) I will also be absent Thursday and Friday as I head to the North Carolina Social Studies Conference. I’m hoping to bring back a number of interesting and fun ideas to my classroom.
As always, if you have any questions, you know where to find me!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I’m thrilled that it’s starting to feel like spring so soon. All six classes are on schedule and I am happy to report that we are in the exact same spot as those in public school.
Students should be working on their ISF projects and I encourage anyone who is having trouble with the social studies aspect of the project to come and see me. I’m always happy to help!
Happy Monday, everyone!
This weekend student council delivered 200 kits to the homeless in downtown Raleigh. The students were able to interact with with the wonderful people we met downtown and were able to see how having access to basic necessities makes a huge difference to those in need.
If you have any questions about the interims that went home on Friday, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always here to help however I can.
We are dedicating the month of February to honoring “Our Three Winners” and they legacy of love and service they have left behind.
We will be collecting donations for the NC Food Bank so #NoOneGoesHungry. The final collection will be on Saturday, February 25th at the IAR. The building that collects the most number of canned foods will receive an “Ice-Cream Party.”
Here are the items the NC Food Bank needs most:
We will also be hosting a poetry/art competition. Presentation will be Wednesday, February 22. The guests of honor will be the mother’s of Deah, Yusor & Razan—Sr. Layla and Sr. Amira.

Happy Friday, everyone!
I hope everyone enjoys their three-day weekend thanks to the teacher workday on Monday. Next Friday (the 10th) interim reports will go home with students. As always, if you need anything from me just drop me a line.
Happy Friday, everyone!
This weekend I will be grading the student’s midterms/diagnostics (all but 8A & 6A) and returning them to the students next week. Starting on Monday we will begin to move into the third quarter of social studies.
The last two quarters are packed with interesting information and I’m looking forward to it. All students need to bring their current social studies folder as well as a new one to their next class with me.
Enjoy your weekend!
This week students will be completing their social studies midterm/diagnostic. Each student has a study guide to help them prepare and the questions will be pulled directly from it. If you or your student(s) have any questions please email or message me on Remind.
We’ve got a full week ahead of us!
I hope everyone enjoyed their three-day weekend. Last Friday report cards went home. If you would like to schedule a time to talk with me please don’t hesitate to do so. All you have to do is make a mark next to the social studies line on the conference request form that went home in the report card envelopes.
This week we’ll be preparing and reviewing for our social studies midterm/diagnostic which will take place next. Last week study guides went home with each of the students. Questions for the midterm will be pulled directly from the study guide. If you or your student(s) have any questions please email or message me on Remind.
