Welcome to 2016- 2017 School Year

Welcome to Sister Taroub’s 7th grade (Course II)  and 8th grade (Course III) classes!

I hope you all enjoy your vacations to the fullest. Everyone has worked hard this year and you really deserve it. Have a great time!! I hope you come back with recharged batteries next year to start a new phase of your learning.

I can’t believe school is over and summer break is right around the corner. Alhamdulillah it was a good year. I am proud of all students achieving the goals set for them. Each student improved their scores from the Fall Map Test to the Spring Map Test at least by two or three points. Some students improved from seventeen to thirty points, showing that the students increased their knowledge and skills on the course standards through this year. I am also proud to share that my students won the regional math fair and the state math fair. I am proud of their hard work and accomplishments.

The next important steps for the students to consider includes starting to think about how to use their free time, especially summer break, to move forward with their goals. Summer break is also an excellent time for them to get a better idea of what they want to focus on in high school and in their future careers. Here are some options to help students get an idea of what they can do over summer break:

Volunteering:There are all kinds of volunteer opportunities in your community such as the public library, reading to children in a hospital.

Summer Camp: There are many summer camps available to student. Camp experiences allow you to learn and develop skills.

I hope you have a safe and happy summer and make the most of your break!
