6th Grade Homework!

Week of April 9-13

For the past three weeks, the students have been working on their poetry unit. They have learned about different types of poems, as well as creating these different forms of poetry. They also have been applying various poetic devices within their poetry in order to enhance their writing. On Tuesday, the students will have their final test on this unit. They have notes on what they need to study, as well as a review on Monday.

This week, we will focus on standardized test taking strategies, as well as vocabulary. We will also do a review of grammar elements that they have learned in the past three months. We will also take a look at realistic fiction pieces.

Students need to bring a book for Friday’s DEAR time.

What i understand about the poem is:
The author is talking about self discipline and how it is good for you.

I feel encouraged when i read this poem:
It reminds me the benifits of self discipline will have a positive effect on everything i do.

I can relate to the poem :
When i make salat five times a day on time.
Sometimes i have to stop doing the things i love.
Like watching TV or listening to my ipod.
When i make salat on time i feel better.
And i do not feel guilty.
