a:refleting on wat we should really focus on
The posotive thing that the nasheed is telling us is to focus on ourselves.
Its telling us to ask ourselves if allah is satisfied. The negative thing in the nasheed is telling us that we always blame everything on the west.
Its telling us that how we are ashamed about our race , i think.
We gave money to the poor becuase we couldnt handle theyre crying.
The nasheeed tells us money doesnt always satisfie us.
We bought stuff for ourselves when we were sad to make us happy.
I dont think money satisfies me.We should be humble and generous instead of spending on ourselves.Allah is always watching us.
Asalamu Alaykum,
This is my best journal entry, in my opinion:
Journal #4:
In the video, I saw a girl on her bed, playing with her beautiful hair. Then, she gets up and looks outside the window. She smiles. Then, she goes to the bathroom and looks for scissors and cuts her hair. After that, she runs to the door and opens it. She gives her hair to her brother and he smiles. The video made me stop and realize how hard it is to deal with cancer. Also, you should always thank Allah (swt) for keeping you healthy and away from cancer. Always be thankful for what you have and for your health. In other words, always be thankful no matter what; always say Alhamdulillah because it could’ve been worse.
Assalamulakom wa rah mutelahi wa barakutoh Sr.Leila This is my best journal! (:
Now syrians, libyans, yemen, egypt and moreare blaming everything on the west, for why thier country is corrupt with unfair, kufr and much more.In syria when bashar and his father got elected to be president, we should have fought and never stopped until they were out. Now! Now! we have awaken. We should blame ourselves for what has happened. This nashid is telling us to blame our selves. But now blaming anyone is negative thinking. We should think positive, like how will we win this war.We have awaken, we are ready and nothing is going to stop us. The only one who can is Allah(STW) azogal. Its our fault, our problem, and we have to fix it. The nashid tells us that we should stop wasting are money and use are nimah wisely. Its not all about cars and houses, its about deen and charity. In Saudia Arabia every where you go you see porches, lambergines, ferraris and other highly expensive cars. They even sell the bugati, one of the most expensive cars in the world. Its $1000,000. This 1,000,000 million dollars could be used for charity all around the world. Is Allah (STW) azogal satisfied? Thats the main question. Life is not a game, its a test.
Maher Zain said we shouldn’t blame everything on the west. I remember that when I was young, I had a friend who’d I would always listen to buthe would tell me the wrong thing and when I got in trouble I would blame my friend. I soon lost my friend when he got sick of I blaming him all the time. I felt really guilty. That’s why he said it. He said we should not always spend money on ourselves and we should spend it for the good of other people.
The life and works of Gary Paulsen
Gary Paulsen is popular for young people. Most of his stories are based upon his life. He has written about 200 books, articles, short stories and many plays. Gary was born in 1939 in Minnesota and had a very difficult childhood. One day Gary was out delivering newspapers in the cold, he then went inside a public library for shelter from the cold. The librarian then offered him a book and a library card. The librarian kept giving him books to read such as classics, westerns, fiction and science fiction.
Although he did not start writing books right away. He soon went to California to become a magazine proofreader. At that job he started working on his first book, Special War, and was then published in 1966. Paulsen then enters the iditarod, a dogsled race in Alaska. When a heart condition forced him to stop racing, he used the time to he spent training dogs to writing. Today, Gary lives in New Mexico with his wife who illustrated most of his books.
Aslamo alykum sr. Leila! I thought about my best journal and it is entry 5:
Al-Iman school is a very uniqe school filled with math, language arts, science, social studies, Quran,Arabic, and P.E And Islamic studies. Most of the teachers are nice, and have a limited stricktness. We even have time to do dhur prayer.Even jumaa on Friday. In Al-Iman the students get taught more than an average school, but at the same time they teach you well. At times this school can tick you off. But in time youll learn to love this school.
Journal for the cancer patient
the girl had a brother that had cancer. He must’ve received chemo and had no hair.so The girl went in the bathroom and cut all her hair short. Her parents came home. the little girl gave her brother her hair, to put on his head. He smiled and took off his cap and put it on her.
I thought that that was so sweet. The little girl gave some of her hair to her brother. because he had none. I feel sorry for her, that her brother had a fatal disease and couldn’t do anything about it. She couldn’t cure it. But she did something that put a huge smile on her brothers face. A small thing can make a huge difference.

reflection on positive and
negative thinking
The song satisfied means not to blame everything on the west , which means don’t blame someone else for sometjing that we did. Also we should not spend, spend, spend we should save our money just in case there is a flood or an earthquake. We should ask ourselves before we do something “Is Allah satisfied”? We should think about how we shouls help each other and not just spend our money on ourselves. We are are worried about how am I going to pay for this flat screen TV, we should be thinking about where should we pray Salat ul-Asr. We should ask Allah to help us go on the strait path, to protect our friends, and protect our family.

The song Satisfied by Maher Zain talks about how its easier to blame everything on the west. I think that it is easier to blame everything on the west. I also think it isn’t right to blame others. Instead of blaming others, blame yourself. What happens to you because your choices. Just ask yourself is Allah pleased. Stop spending money on our wants and think about the needs. Start being more humble. Over the summer, I donated all of MY money to the Masjid. Even though it was like $10 dollars but the amount doesn’t matter. I was being generous to please Allah. Also, you can donate to those people in Africa. You don’t have to donate to 1 person or place you can donate to 10 people, 100 people, or even 1000 people if your blessed enough to have the wealth. It just matters if you have the intentions. So stop spending money on that new Lamborghini or the new Mercedes-Benz and think of making a living, taking care of your needs, and if you can, help others out.

A: Journal Entry 1 9/11 Reflection
9/11 tenth anniversary is in two days. When it happened you were only two years old. How do you feel about this?
My view for the tenth anniversary of 9/101 is pretty upset and angry. The terrorist act was very uncalled for, and it was very upsetting to know that not only on that day many people died; but because of that incident to this day many people are getting harrassed, tortured, tormented, hurt, and even killed. When the death of Osama Ibn Laden occurred i had no take, no view on it, to me it was just another death. But then i realized that so many people would be happy and some maybe would have even gotten closure, and some would want the others that were involved to die even more than they already did. But I, I didnt want any part in this. There are so many movies about 9/11 and how the terrorists were Muslim and after that event, people wouldn’t even think about spitting in our direction; and I was very much appauld. To wrap this journal all up, basically in my opinion, I hate what happend on September 11th, 2001. It ruined the Muslim name. And people are very upset about it, likewise and one big part that I truly loathe is a fact of people believing a couple people saying that it was Muslims when the same amount of people are saying it wasnt; always going with the negative crowd. One last thing, Burning Quran day in Florida really ticked me off, thank Allah for stopping it
Here’s my best journal in my opinion (911 reflection)
I honestly dont know how I came to knowing about the 911 attacks. What I do know is that whoever “supposedly” carried out those atrocities is a murderer. People say that two men piloted flight 175 into the twin towers. ( I personally don’t think that is who did because of some concrete evidence proving that it wasn’t 2 guys but that’s just my opinion). People say that they were Muslim in my mind they were Kufar because they obviously didn’t think about all the backlash and hatred that Muslims would receive because of there so called “JIHAD”. In fact there is many ways of performing Jihad other than with your body and also committing homicide and suicide is NOT jihad at all! And the reason I stress the fact that the Muslims who did it aren’t Muslim is because a true Muslim would think before acting on this level of foolishness. (the people who did it might say there Muslim but I can tell that they certainly aren’t good ones especially when you’r thinking of killing 3000 innocent people including innocent Muslims and your your self). Another thing that tics me off is the fact that most Americans think that most Muslims rejoiced in the September 11th attacks when some of the people that died in 911 ARE MUSLIM THEMSELVES! What most people dont realize is that the loyal faith of a billion people is so much more than the hatred of a few
i think the song writin by maher zain says how muslims blame everything on the west. i think it is wrong. if you have a problem blame it on you. it is only fare if the person that did something takes the blame. the song also states that you should only buy needssuch as food clothing and maybe furniture.not makeup such as blush mascara and lipgloss or lip stick.

In this video the little girl donates a great amount of her hair to her brother who has cancer. The little girl probably feels bad that she has long, beautiful hair , and her brother doesn’t have any hair. So she went and cut some of her hair and gave it to her brother.I feel that this girl is very caring and generous. If a little girl is willing to donate alot of her hair to help others, then more people should , too. Many people have long , beautiful hair, and they should be willing to at least cut a tiny portion of it to help others. We could all do this and help many people.
Journal Entry #4
The little girl was on her bed waiting for her family. Before she went to them, she ran to the bathroom, found the sissiors and started to cut it all. THEN she goes to her family and they were shocked. But then a boy with cancer who was her brother came uo to her and she gave him her hair that she cut. So she clearly thinks about other people. She has a good heart and its amazing what she did for her age. When i was her age, i didnt even know cancer existed. She’ll get alot of good deeds. Her brother was really happy too.

I feel confused.Since i was one year old when this happened.
I do not remember anything about it.Sometime this year i asked my Mom What 9/11 meant. My Mom told me that on September 11,2001 planes flew into The World Trade Center ,The Pentagon and in a field in Pennsylvania.
I hear my Parents talk about that day and sometimes i hear it on the news when my Parents are watching it.
I do know that sme people say that Muslims did this.
It makes me sad to think this is true.
I still don’t understand what really happened.
My Mom said I am to little to understand.
Maybe when i am older i will know the truth.
Madeline L’Engle Camp
Madeline L’Engle Camp is a successful author who has written over forty books. She not only writes books but poems and plays as well. As a child, Madeline was not very bright in school. She believed that she had no talent up until sixth grade. When she was in the sixth grade Madeline wrote a poem so well that her teacher accused her of plagiarizing another author! That’s when she learned she had a talent for writing. There was a time in the ninth grade when she was depressed, that was when her father died from heart failure. As Madeline grew older, she overcame that stage and continued writing her marvelous books. In 1986 Madeline’s husband died from cancer. One year after this happened she wrote the book A Wrinkle in Time. She wrote another book about her marriage called Two Part Invention. This is a summary about Madeline L’Engle Camp.
In my opinion this is my best journal:
Gary Paulsen was born 1939 and is a famous author. When he was little, he had hard times. His dad fought in World War 2 so they moved the Philippines. When he came back to the U.S, he ran away a lot of times. When he was 14 he ran away and joined a traveling carnival. Once when he was delivering newspapers, a librarian gave him a book and a library card. When he was reading it gave him the desire to write his own books.
When he started dog sledding he wrote 2 books about it, Dog song and Wood song. He stopped dog sledding because he had heart problems. When Gary wrote a book called winter kill, some people recognized themselves in the book so they sued him. He stopped writing for a while until his interest of writing books came back and he wrote more books. A lot of his books won awards and Newbery Honors. Gary Paulsen continues to write books and is one of the best authors ever known.

9/11 tenth anniversary is in two days.when it happened you were only one year .how do you feel about this?
9/11 effected me in such a way that my life will never be the same again .I was living in New York at the time of the attack. The attack changed my life because it was not only at terrorist attack it was a Muslim terrorist attack .People never looked at Muslims the same ever again, people blamed all Muslims for the attack which wasn’t right no matter which way you put it. I think that people are stereotyping Muslims. They should blame the terrorist for the attack not all Muslims because it wasn’t their fault .9/11 changed the way people think of anyone, they don’t trust anyone any more. Honestly I think it is horrible what the terrorist did and how the killed innocent people hope that once we get over the 9/11 attack one day then we can be one united community.
journal entry #7: As muslims we should think about what we are doing. Is what we are doing correct? Some muslims do wrong things and they say it is correct. Instead of making our Ummah stronger, people walk away. I’m talking about wrong things such as skipping prayers for no use, not reading quran, wearing improper clothes and many other things we shouldn’t do. we need to keep our faith strong and lead people the right way. We should let non-muslims know about our religion.

A: 9/11 Reflection
When the 9/11 happened, I was only one year old. I feel if that the 9/11 never happened I would not be in the same position I’m in now. I wouldn’t have this beautiful religion that I have. I wouldn’t be in the same school that I’m in right now. I would be in a public school where they won’t teach me Qur’an or arabic. I wouldn’t have the teachers who care for me, or a great environment, a family who loves me, and the GREATEST friends. So basically if the 9/11 never happened I would be in a position I never thought I would be in. Thanks to Allah (SWT) I don’t have to loose the best of things.

Prompt: 9/11 tenth anniversary is in two days. When it happened you where only three years old. How do you feel about this?
9/11 is one part of history that will defiantly be remembered. After the attack on the world trade center or also known as the twin towers people have always been told about the muslims and how we are terrorists. This affected the muslims in many different ways. The muslims before 9/11 where anti-social. What we have to do is change their opinions. The way we can do that is to make friends with many kinds of different people. The way this has affected me is because when i go to high school there will be all kinds of stereotypes. It may not change all at once but if all of us try together the people’s perspective will change. Alhamdulilah this event has made us open our eyes to what we have to do now.
Assalamu Alikum people, this is (in MY opinion) my best journal reflection.

Positive thinking is when you are in a tough situation, instead of thinking about what problems you have, you focus on what you should really be doing, or think about what you already have and be thankful for it. In Islam, it always says to think positive, not negative. Negative thinking is when you just think about what you don’t have or what problems you have, when you should be thanking Allah that it wasn’t worse. In the nasheed, they were saying that when a person was in a problem, they would “blame the west”, when it’s actually YOUR fault. the things that lead TO the problem is what YOU do, not surprisingly. When you fall into a financial problem, sometimes the steps that lead to the problem are YOUR actions. YOU’RE the one who bought all those expensive things, and now look where you are?? Sometimes I think negative, too. For example, when I broke my pinky, I thought,” Why did this happen to me? Why ME??” But after I got my cast and finished the surgery, I realized that it could have been worse. I could’ve even got my finger cut off!! I should have been thanking Allah that it wasn’t worse. You should always be thanful for what you have, and try not to complain.
I saw a touching comical. In a way it shows that kids are more helpful than grownups. And kids can be more thoughtful. Even though she gave a handful of hair and it was not a lot for a wig. It makes people to donate.
9/8/11
9/11 tenth anniversary is in 2 days. When it happened you were only 1 year old. How do you feel about this?
On early Tuesdaymorning of 9/11 around 9:30, 2 passenger air planes crashed into the twin towers or known as the world trade center. Shortly after that a 3rd airplane crashed into the Pentagon. Then a 4th plane crashed in a feild in Shakesville, Pennsilvainyah. The whole country came to a stand still and the govarment shutdown all of the air traffic. Astate of emergency was declared in the after math.3,300 people lost their lives among them about a dozen of muslims. The goverment said that it was a terrorist attak on the United State by Al-qaeda and around the world suffered many injutices and descriminations and hostlities as a reaction to what happened on 9/11.

The song is called satisfied . What I understand is not to blame everything on the west and not hide from our race or where we are from because we should be proud . Also money is not everything and people have forgotten about our history. When I think about this I get really sad we shouldn’t care more about this and that we should try to satisfy Allah and it not important to have the biggest house or the best clothes it is important that we know the day of judgment is more important and it might come tomorrow. So we must be ready.
Oppss… i forgot to put (SWT) after Allah sorry!!

I think many youth listen to music like rap and hip hop. Better choices for muslim youth would be Islamic songs and Nasheeds. Music effects our minds, attitudes, and the way we see things, and therefore we should listen to mentaly healthy music. I think we need to listen to healthy music so inshaAllah it will benifit our actions, amd spiratually.
Journal on Gary Paulsen
Gary Paulsen was bad at school and not a good reader, and things were bad at home. When a librarian showed him the world of reading he got very well at it.it amazes me how that one librarian inspired him to what leaded to him writing so many great novels.this reminds me of a time when I was 7 I had a doll that I used for fashion designing I was a good artist and my outfits were horrible. But just last year my aunt a professional fashion designer showed me how to sew. And one of my best friends inspired me my true artistic ability. Now I’m great at both

Kindness
As muslims we have to live kindness. Many people today would just say that they are kind but in reality they don’t live it. Kindness has a huge impact on our daily lives. The reason is because if you be nice to somebody then they will do the same to you. Same with being mean and rude to someone it will always come back to you.
One day my mom decided to buy her friend a hijab from the masjid. She later on went by her house and gave her the hijab. The woman thanked her. The next day she comes back from work and sees a paper bag sitting on the front porch. She looked in it and she found two hijabs. She called me and asked if someone gave it to me. I said no. Then she smiled and walked into the house. Till this day we don’t know who gave it to us. So now i get it all the kindness eventually comes back to us.

A: Reflection to the song “The Chosen one”
The song “The Chosen one” explains the story of the prophet. It shows how generous he was and how he had self-discipline. For example, for generosity he gave some mullah to a poor person on the street and for self-discipline hes neighbor threw garbage on his door and he still kept his cool. The prophet is my absolute role model! Seeing this video showed me that i should be generous and have self-discipline just like the chosen one!

A: Reflection about positive and negative thoughts
(2nd best journal)
As a Muslim, negative thoughts shouldn’t be in our minds. Having negative thoughts is like being mad all the time, blaming others, and never being satisfied. But by looking at the positive or bright side of things, you’ll be satisfied with everything you have and you would be thankful. You may not realize it, but in Africa the people don’t even have half the stuff that we have. Of course as Muslims its part of Islam to care about others and to be thankful. I think that we should all think positive thoughts all the time. Positive thoughts brings peace to our minds and pushes anger away. Who wouldn’t want that?
journal reflection #1 dealing with family member with cancer.
I saw a little girl who woke up and rolled out of bed .she then went to the window in her room and looked out of it . she then runs into the bathroom gets a bag off the shelf and dumps what was in it out on the floor .Then she grabbed the scissors and started to cut her hair . she placed her cut hair strips in her dress like a basket . she runs to the door and opens it, and standing on the other side were her parents and brother who was wearing a cap. There expressions immediately changed from fine to shocked. The brother went down on one knee and his sister handed him a strip of hair . He held it in his hand then he took off his hat to show that he had no hair. The boy had cancer and had lost his hair and that was the reason she cut her hair, to give some for him to have.

Acts of Kindness
There is another Masjid in Durham that we go to for Sunday School and other programs. The people there are really sweet, and we’re all familiar with each other and are all good friends. We have lots of fieldtrips at the Sunday School and little programs were we all meet up somewhere. Not too long ago, we all went to a shelter to feed the people there. It was really sad. The people only had beds to stay in, and all people carried bags with them with the little belonging that they owned, because they were afriad someone would steal them. They weren’t even provided with food, they only got it if someone offered to feed them, and if you didn’t come in time, then too bad. Everyone was for themselves, just trying to save themselves and put a stop to thier own hunger. No one cares if you sleep hungry, as long as they’ve eaten. It was really sad, and so some of the moms, including mine, got together to cook some food for the shelter. The next day we bought drinks and pizza and we all met at the shelter and set up the table, plates. cups, drinks, and food. Slowly, the people started forming a long line. Right when we were about to serve the food, a man said he thought they should recite a Surah before eating. It was really suprising, but no one disagreed. He then led us throughout the whole surah, and then he recited the meaning for the people. Right after that, he took his place back into the line. When we were about to give him his food, pizza, and drink, he told us that he reverted to Islam not too long ago, and changed his name to Abbas. He also taught himself to read arabic from books he had found, and somehow got a Quran. It was really nice and sweet that he had no experience in any religion, but now is a pious Islamic man.

journal reflection #2 kindness
An act of kindness that i can relate to is cleaning for my mom. My mom was going to come home from wok and my little bother Ali just messed up the house with his toys thrown every were and he had colored all over the walls with maker. so i put it to my self to clean. i got up off the couch and changed the channel to a kids show. took Ali, sat him down and let him watch and i started cleaning. I picked the toys put them in a bin. placed the pillows back on the couch. Then i went to get the vacuum and started vacuuming and throwing things away. Then i brought a wash cloth and scrubbed the walls and dried them off with a paper towel. with everything in place and clean my mom walks in. i see her tired from her work and she sits down on the couch and seeing her just rest ,instead of walking on some thing hectic. that made me feel good , and after that there was no thanks needed after that.
As the youth of the Muslim ummah we need to motivate ourselves to help these situations. We need to help the places where our own Muslim brothers and sisters are dieing of terrible diseases and starvation. The least we can do is make duaa. This is the least,we need to be doing the most we can.
Journal Entry #8: Mahr Zain “Satisfied” Reflection
9/22/11
In the song Mahr Zain addresses positive and negative things. He talks about how we, muslims, should focus on ourselves and shouldn’t blame everything on the west. As people (muslims or not) we have to take responsibility. Not every problem comes from a nonmuslim source, intact, its our fault for not teaching them to stay away from bad music, for not teaching them to dress islamicly, for not teaching them to not use bad language.
Asalmam-a-alaikum Sr.Leila
Reflection 10: Gary Paulsen
My impression of Gary Paulsen is that most of his his books are about wildlife. He was really bad at reading when he went to a library and the librarian kept him reading. The librarian had helped him fined his passion. Gary says to children that they should read like a wolf eats. He is a well-known author and i am amazed by his work.

I forgot to add that day i was feeling very good and proud of myself that i did that but i wasnet proud because i helped it was that that week i taught them Surah Al-Fathia, Al-Falq, Al-Nas
The girl was cutting her hair for her brother because he had cancer. She was cutting her own hair because her older brother had none. He didn’t have any hair because of the chemotherapy treatment. I felt really bad for the boy who had cancer because he would feel different than others. But of course Allah (STW) treats and cures the cancer. If I figured out I had cancer (god forbid) I would feel like it’s the end of the world. So the hair the girl cut was for her brother who had cancer, she could also give the extra hair to others in need. When the girl’s brother received her cut hair, he gave her his cap to wear because her hair was cut. We all should say Allhamduellah that we don’t have cancer or any other kind of disease (Allah Kareem). For the people with cancer it’s a test from Allah (STW). If they would ask themselves why they had cancer or would they agree with what they have. Remember Allah (STW) is the most generous.

Generosity
The most simple form of generosity is prayer. We should pay for those who do not have the luxuryor things we have. But after we should also do something not only pray, but get out and help or donate. We should give money to the poor or donate food. We should not just think that we have everything and that’s enough. We have to think about how other people are feeling. If it were us, how would we feel? We would want to have everything and gofor our dreams, but tha’s how other people are feeling right now. We have to care about them and try to help them. Be thankful for what you have. We should fight hunger and poverty.
i think that the youth arelistining to alot of music and the musing usually has alot of cussing and bad things in it but they can change what they listen to and listen to clean music thst has no cussing in it,

I think that Gary Paulson is a strong person. Not as in muscle but as in mentality. I am impressed of how he hated school and was horrible at it and he ended up being a 3 time award winner. He seems to be very daring and calm. I learned that anyones life can change unexpectedly. When I get older I want to be better at the whole concept of writing because i’m not that good at it but it seems like I will need to excel in language to get high grades in high school and college.

My mother is always helping me with everything; she’s always lending me a hand and being kind. So one time we were at my uncle’s house and my mom got a panic attack. She was breathing very hard and she was a bit unconscious. It was very hard for me to see this but i needed to stay strong and not cry, because my mom needed my help. I was the only one that has seen my mom have one before, so my uncle and grandma were depending on me, but I was so scared and I didn’t know what to do! So I just did what I could, I just held her hand and was comforting her. After my mom woke up I gave her water and helped her relax. My uncle was very proud of me because I handled the situation well and helped my mom.

A: “Healing”
I remember when I as very mad and sad that i went upstairs to my room and shut the door behind me. Hard. i rushed over to my bed and started to cry. I cried so much that my pillow was covered with tears. i did’nt care, I was very upset. A ew minutes later, I hear my door to my bedroom creak open. I wanted to face the person but i was too upset to move and instead shouted “go away!” The person did’nt really seem to care what I had said to them. I could hear their feet dragging on the floor. At that time, i was about to get up and really hurt them. But, before i could say a word or move a muscle, I felt the person’s hand on me. I turned around, about to smack their hand, but when I turned around, I saw my sister. I started to quiet down a bit on the crying, but still was crying. My sister told me to sit up and take a deep breath in and let it out. I did as i was told and my sister started to calm me down. She asked me why i was so angry and sad and I really couldn’t remember. She told me to calm down. I said what are you, my mother? and started to laugh. Later, my sister and I sarted to play and I was happy again.
I realized how much a sister means to me….

journal reflection #1
we just came back from school and i finished my homework at school, and my little brother Talal was trying to study for his multiplication test. So i came to him and asked if he needed me to help him out.He said”ya that would be great”so i start asking him the questions for him to answer. we kept going at that for a while then when i thought he was good i gave him a mini quiz. i took a sheet of paper and listed out multiplication questions for him to answer. i waited as he answered . then he handed it in to me and i checked it. He got 100% and i could see that he was proud of him self for what he was able to do, and i was happy that i could help and that was such a simple act of kindness that it was able to help out someone.

journal entry:
The common youth in America are listening to pop stars and female singers wearing unIslamic clothes and using strong language in their songs. The youth, in return, make these singers their role model and literally go astray. some better options for the youth would be listening to nasheed, not listening to any music, or find other things to do (i.e. read Qur’an, play outside). music effects us in many ways. i once heard a story about a king who listened to lots of music. when he asked his joker\musician to play some songs, as soon as he started playing, the king started laughing. on the 2nd song they all cried. on the last song, all of them went to sleep and the musician left them. this explains how music literally controls us.

Thanks to Allah
I was thankful to be muslim and having people who cared for me, having a great family, a awesome muslim school, and a safe environment. I’m thankful for being in the position that I’m in right now. I’m thankful for us to have prophets such as Muhammed (SAW) so we can go to the straight path. I hope Allah (SWT) grants us all Jannah Inshallah!
my best journal is when we wrote about 9/11 on 9/11:
9/11 was a bad day for everybody. Business rates dropped,a national monument was destroyed after a devastating plane attack turned the two enormous twin towers into rubble. Nobody can honestly be sure who destroyed the 2 magnificent buildings.
Although, many people believe Osama bin-laden was guilty for the crime. But how can we be so sure. there are over 8 billion people in the world, how can you be so sure. there is a chance it could be anyone. does anyone look into the history of it. Osama bin laden was a warrior in the american army. He taught his soldiers how to handle shoot and work their many different varieties of weapons.
Osama bin laden was recently killed after the soldiers located and shot him. 9/11 was a horrible event but we dont know who to blame. The result of the crash was terrible.we do know a terrorist did it but a terrorist can be from any religion.
this reflection is about the pen:
I think the pen is the most powerful weapon. It is stronger than a gun, stronger than a sword, and stronger than a knife because of it passion to persuade. It can start a huge war or end it. The first creation ever was the pen and it wrote down everything that will ever happen that is why anything that is important to our society is written down.

journal entry: I think this is my best entry (sorry if too long)
I think not only muslim youth but many other children with diff. religions and ethnic groups listen to bad music like songs that mostly contain inappropriate language and cussing. Music affects a persons mind, behavior, attitude, and the way they see things. On top of that, childrens minds are not fully developed and can get influenced easier then adults. Sometimes the reason kids conduct is bad is because of the music they listen. Also after hearing music, kids often make bad singers there role models and began to follow what they do like getting tatoos, smoking, and wearing inappropriate clothes. As muslim children, we should not let such things to astray us to the wrong path and as parents they should not allow children hear bad influences. Because music affects us srongly, they should introduce to children to islamic songs like nasheeds and make srong believing muslim singers as our childs role models.
I found a great video that is MUST SEE. It is the song dynamite with islamic lyrics!!
