Al-Iman School is an Islamic school which is a non-public, non-profit, tax-exempt educational organization accredited by AdvancED. Al-Iman School is also accredited by the Council of Islamic Schools of North America, and is a member the Islamic Schools League of America. Al-Iman School has been in operation for 27 years, and is one of the original Islamic Schools serving the Triangle community.
The school is located on the shared campus of the Islamic Association of Raleigh, (IAR) in the heart of one of the area’s premier universities, North Carolina State University. The current enrollment is over 250 students in Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. The graduating eighth grade class moves on to attend locally competitive Public, Charter and Early College High School Programs.
The classroom facilities for Pre-K through eighth grade students are located in two separate buildings. The Pre-Kindergarten-third grade is housed in their own separate building, with much of the infrastructure catered around the needs for these grade levels. Behind the building is a newly renovated playground in which students enjoy recreational activities throughout the school day. Fourth thru eighth grade is located on the third floor of the masjid facility. In this facility you can find a complete science lab, mobile computer carts, a gym with full-court basketball, a well equipped library and a cafeteria.
In addition to these facilities the Al-Iman student body is very diverse. Students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds such as Asian-American, White (European and Middle Eastern) and African-American. The diversity of Al-Iman is also evident in their staff, many of which are from diverse backgrounds as well. This diversity, in both students and staff, allows for students to have a broad understanding of Islamic teachings.
