About Me

Assalamu Alaikum, my name is Denise Sakr.  I am ecstatic to start a new position as the middle school science teacher. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from East Carolina University and this will be my nineteenth year teaching.   Eight of those years were in public school. Two years were spent in Egypt and this will be my ninth year at Al-Iman school. I am a wife and a mother of three. My two oldest both graduated from Al-Iman and have moved on to NC State. My youngest will be attending Athens Drive Magnet High School this school year. 

My love for children is the reason I went into teaching. I use multiple methods of teaching to make sure everyone reaches their full potential. I love sharing what I know both inside and outside of the classroom. 

I treat every student as one of my own children. It takes all of us, principal, parents and teachers to educate  “OUR” children. For that reason Al-Iman is my second family and my classroom is my second home.
