About Me!

AssalamuAlaikum, I am excited to teach Grade 6 & 7 English at Al-Iman this year. I have a  Bachelors in Information Technology with a Journalism background. I was born and raised in NYC, moved around to California and Riyadh until we settled down in Raleigh 11 years ago. Alhamdulillah grew up with my paternal grandfather who was an Islamic Scholar and lecturer from Jamia Nizamia University in Hyderabad, India (Accepted by Al-Azhar University, Ummul Qura University Mecca and Islamic University Medina) and was taught the love of our Deen and knowledge that I try to teach forward. I strongly believe that it is a teacher’s duty to serve her students and recognize that every student, given the means and opportunity, is capable of success, and I am eager to teach at a school dedicated to providing students with challenging and meaningful learning experiences centered around Islamic principles.

I've taught in Sunday schools since High School and in Riyadh at a renowned International Islamic school for 2nd - 4th grade in English, Math, and Social Studies. I have been active in the Raleigh community since 2014 as part of the North Raleigh MYCC Mosque Executive Team working with various Committees, ABY Sunday School Islamic Studies Teacher, and in charge of MYCC Girl Scout Troop 4438 for the past 10 years. My passion is working with our youth, especially middle schoolers in helping them find their voice and teaching them core leadership skills. I look forward to getting to know all my students and their families this year!
